Flake Ice Makers
Flake ice is a dry, subcooled form of ice used to chill seafood, meat, and a wide range of industrial products. Its flakes typically measure 5–10 cm² and 1.5–3 mm thick, with an approximate temperature of -6°C.

Rapid chilling
The broad surface area of flake ice enables excellent heat transfer and faster product cooling. At sea, for example, fish can be brought to 0°C immediately after capture and kept there without breaking the cold chain, substantially extending preservation time.

Flake ice provides a predictable cooling capacity and makes it easier to measure its effect on a mixture's temperature. This precision is essential in chemical, concrete, and meat-processing applications.

Because flake ice is slightly subcooled to approximately -6°C and contains no unfrozen water, it delivers maximum latent heat absorption and highly effective cooling.

How it works
Ice forms on the insulated inner surface of a cylinder. A helical cutter continuously removes the ice formed along the cylinder wall.
